Feedback

I let my class see the rough cut of the video today and it seems that they were impressed! They gave me lots of constructive criticism though which is good! What I can take from what they said is that the video does take a little bit of time to get going. I can now see that they are right about this and this is something that I have taken on board and am now correcting in the edit. I am speeding up the in between bits of where not much is going on so that things are happening so that things are happening all the time and we don't lose the audience in the first minute.
The other thing I am doing to keep the song at the right time it slow down the really interesting parts. My teacher mentioned that those parts almost went a bit too fast and because I shot the video at 60fps I could slow it down and it would still be very smooth when it was slowed down. I am glad I did this because it looks so much more amazing when the water is going back in the bucket in slow motion.
So this is what I am doing at the moment and I will work more on some of the criticism as I finish each other part

Audience Research Results!

So I've finally got my results from the questionnaires that I sent round to people at my church. I sent them round to a load of people I know with a range of ages from 14 - 48. This has helped to give me a wider view of what the people think about general music videos, new musical tastes and how much christian music videos they have seen. This is what I found:
The ratio of male to female people in this survey was 1:1
Here are the graphs:
So what can I take away from these results? Well it is easy to see from this that a huge majority of the people that took the survey do like listening to new music and the music that I will be using is pretty new so satisfies what the people want. I can see that even though a lot of people have seen quite a few music video not many people watch christian ones. This is good because it is exactly the problem that I am trying to address as I carry on through this work. It does seem though that a lot of people like to see a bit of fun in music videos as well as it being serious. This is what I am going to try and integrate into my music video. I think it may be a good idea to try and do something quite special too like trying to get the whole video done in one take. I could then also add some fun things into it.

Audience Research

As part of my audience research I have created a questionnaire to hand out at my church to see what the general view is on christian music videos. I included these questions:

How much contemporary christian music do you listen to?
Do you enjoy listening to new music?
How many music videos have you seen?
How many christian music videos have you seen?
If its not a lot, would you be interested in this sort of thing?
What kind of music video would you prefer?
If neither please state what you would prefer?
Do you prefer music videos to...
Have you heard of the band 'The Rend Collective Experiment' before?

I will hand these out at my church this week and hopefully collate all the information the week after
